Leading up to my birthday, I asked Sage if she wanted to hang out for my birthday. Like the weekend of my birthday. I was so nervous, and 100% thinking she'd say no. But she didn't. She said yes, so now I had something to look forward to. And on the plus side, she thinks my dad is cool so there's that.

I texted her and asked what people do for fun here. I asked if there was anything she wanted to do. The both of us are indecisive, so it doesn't help. We sorta went back and forth about what to do, and eventually she suggested making a cake. I remembered her saying something about how she hasn't had carrot cake in a while, and so we decided to make carrot cake. (Box mix of course.)

Leading up to my birthday, like the Thursday before it, she became sick. Like, not TOO sick, but she was sick. I told her she doesn't have to come if she didn't feel good. She said she was okay and that she'll come, which Iw was pretty happy about. We talked about it, she said she'd come at 1pm and I sent her my address.

She came (and I was in the bathroom when she did) and I let her in. She awkwardly wandered into my room, and looked around. She said she was "nosy" lol. She did look at my manga shelf, mind you she doesn't watch anime or anything, and she goes "this tracks" which was funny. She said her chud brother prepared her for this, so she knew about some of the titles (The Summer Hikaru Died, I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, Komi Can't Communicate). Anyways, we ended up chatting for like an hour. Very awkwardly of course. Like, we were just trying to fill the silence. I asked her if she goes to people's houses, and she said no. So I mean, I can understand that. She was rolling back and forth in my office chair and a couple of times she'd roll close to my face. It was funny actually. At some point we were talking about pictures, and she went through her camera roll showing me pictures of classmates from middle school. She did also mention how she hydroplaned while driving here, which was worrying. I also somewhere between here made a joke about her being like how people are when they lose their vapes. (She said her phone was low, and I asked if she wanted to charge it. And she said, I NEED IT ON ME. Which was funny.) She then looked at the time and then said, "Shall we make the carrot cake." Enunciating every word of course.

So we did that. I realized how I didn't have a big bowl to mix it in. We just mixed it in the pan. I also didn't really know how to work the oven, but we figured it out. We were fine. We put the box mix carrot cake in the oven and then sat down for a bit. She mentioned how she wanted fries a little earlier, and after a couple mintues she goes, "Let's go get some fries."

We went into her car and she drives to the one McDonalds here, and then orders fries. She talks about who she thinks was working today, since a lot of kids here work at McDonalds (her prediction was wrong by the way) and then we got our fries. It was like 9 bucks for two medium fries. Which is insane. We went back to my house and ate them.

When we got back, our cake was pretty much done. There was like 3 minutes left on the timer. We didn't have any oven mitts, which I totally forgot about grabbing, so we used a towel to get the pan out of the oven and set it to cool. While it cooled, we just sat around and ate fries. We were chatting, I can't even remember what about now, but I do remember how the sun was setting and it was hitting her face. I thought it looked nice, especially since it'll make a good light study reference. By this time it was like 4:30, and she said she was going to go home around 5. I asked if she'd have enough time to eat carrot cake and she goes, "I can eat a cake in 30 minutes." And she did. Well, first we frosted the cake. Whipped cream cheese frosting, it was good. While we were frosting it, my dad was chatting to her. They were chatting about what city she lives in, and my dad knew where she lived since he used to frequent around there. Anyways, we cut and plated the cake and sat down to eat it.

At this time, my dad was talking about how a girl he's talking to will be coming over. So, that's what happened. When they eventually came, my dad said he was going to drive her around and go to Walmart to buy an air mattress for her and her 2 kids. After he left, she laughed about how he gets like a lot of ladies. And I told her that's not even the only girl he's talking to. My dad isn't dating anyone, but he's definatly a sweet talker. 1000% a sweet talker.

The two of us ended up talking a bunch. Nothing really full of subsistence, just yapping. We talked about people in school (she imatated a couple of people's walks), we talked about my dad and all my family lore. I mentioned how I feel like a fat fucking chud, to which she got a little kick out of it. She talked a little about her family and I also mentioned how I was so happy that I had another class with her this semester. She talked about how her mom likes taking care of her, and she thinks that her mom enjoys it because she knows Sage doens't really like to be taken care of. I told her I feel that way too, and I like caring for people. And I mentioned how I feel happy when I walk with her or sit with her. She said it was cute, so I'll take that. Somewhere along the way, I was cleaning the table. Like I was putting our plates in the sink and I was grabbing waters. And I was throwing things away. She leans her head back, and I told her to watch her head. She says, "Don't tell me what to do," in the usual way she does, and I said, "Well the garbage is right where your head is." She moves her head and I throw away stuff. Suddenly my table slides forward and Sage literally almost slams straight into the table or the floor. She was going to fall out of the chair because she was leaning forward in her chair, but I ended up catching her. We both just bursted out laughing, and she was quite embarrassed. But she did say that if I didn't catch her, she probably would've just fallen since her reflexes are slow. It was pretty funny. We told stories and we laughed about dumb things. It was fun. I think this has been one of the only times I've been comfortable with her in person. Most of the time I'm overthinking and thinking how I'm such a chud and I shouldn't have said certain things. But while we were talking, I was having fun. I didn't think much of it, and I just talked to her. I enjoyed it. The both of us are yappers, and we just yapped the entire time. I didn't get nervous or think too much about things, and I had fun. Lots of fun. She was laughing at jokes and things I said, and I felt accomplished. I enjoy talking and laughing with her, and it's great that she came over.

Even though she said she as leaving at like 5, the sun had gone down by this point. It's like 6:30 or something similar, and she says how she's going to set a timer and leave around then. Before then, she was too lazy to get up and she just sorta wanted to stay since she didn't want to get up. But since it was getting dark, she should go home soon. We talked more, like was practically losing her voice from the yap. We told more stories and laughed some more before her alarm come on. When it went off, she got up and put on her shoes. Before she did though, she referred to a story she told me. She was playing Tapple and one of the categories was how to kick her brother out of a party. She referred to that as she was putting on her shoes, and I joked about how I invited her over to hate on her. She said she enjoyed her time being hated on.

I walked her to her car, and she mentioned how I was such a gentleman. I said I like walking her places, and we reached her car. I thanked her for coming over, and I hoped to hang out again sometime. I said for her to get come safe, and she laughed and said "I'll hydroplane just for you." I laughed and then she said she had fun and I didn't creep her out and I wasn't too chuddy. I was happy about it.

As she was in her car, my dad pulls up into the driveway with the girl and her two kids. Sage then leaves and then the new vistors come over.

I genuinely enjoyed my day. I was a little nervous thinking I might weird her out. But I'm glad I did okay. I think I genuinely get so nervous I can't function right, and I just end up being weird. I think I reallu just need to relax and just be me. She said she doesn't really care too much about anything, and so maybe I shouldn't worry too much.

I love that girl, she's amazing. I had a good day because of her.
