It's been a while since I've wrote here, but instead of making diary entries my stories will now be stories. Or maybe I will make it into an entry, who knows.
Anyways, today is the last day for seniors at my school. I'm a junior unfortunately, but that's alright. I end school in the next week (well 3 days) here. The worst part is the seniors leaving. I wasn't really close or knew the seniors too well in the first two terms I was here. I knew a couple, but I wasn't friends with them or anything. Come this fourth term and suddenly my classes were filled with seniors, well not really. My first block was mostly seniors and I had like 3 in my last block.
The point is, I made friends with a couple seniors. This was mostly in my last block (which was gym). Today, the gym was closed so my class was in thr weight room. My teacher then said people could go outside or play with the freshman. But me and one of the seniors, I'll call him Wooper, stayed in the weight room. I mentioned how it was his last day here and he said yay, he was exicted to leave. We somehow got onto the topic of music and I said that he'd be my favorite artist since I'm a poser who doesn't actually have bands or anything that I really like. We were talking more about music and got onto the topic of Nightmare Blunt Circle, which was some artist on Spotify. They have amazing things on there.
Anyway, Wooper asked (sorta to himself) if there was someone in the chior room because he had a guitar in there. I said, "Well, who would know if we went?" So we left. We went to the chior room and sure enough he had his guitar. We tried to go into one of the practice rooms but it was locked. Instead, he just played his guitar in the main classroom. He played a couple chords, strings, y'know the stuff. Then he started playing.
Wooper started with Please Don't Forget Me by Cigarettes and Milk. WHICH IS REALLY GOOD GOSH. Honestly, I was just sitting there like a little nerd amazed at the guitar. I love live music, any live music. It speaks to me somehow, I don't know why. I was just smiling there cuz the music was good. And that kid can sing.
He played 2 Bed, 2 Bath (and a Ghost) by Bug Hunter next. This one was on his instagram, to which I saw. I didn't look at the full video, but I saw that he played it. That was alaso amazing. I honestly just felt so amazed listening to this. I mean it was nothing special, but I literally love when people play guitar and sing. There's just something about it that's so great. And I could really see his passion and love for music in the way he played and sung. And I felt it too, and I think that's what I like about music. This song is also stuck in my head currently, it is SO good.
He played Bottle Rocket Astronaut by Bug Hunter next. This one's really good too, I like the start of it. It goes, "My name is Burt, and urban bird" which is a great line. I love it. The song in of istelf is awesome. Wooper is awesome too. He's a talented kid, and I like him. He's cool. I thought he was before, but it's extra aura if you can sing and even more if you can play an instrament.
He also played a parody of Black Bird by The Beatles, I don't remember exactly how it went but I know it was something about swift wipes and fortnite. It was funny. He says he likes playing that one because it takes everyone by surprise, and it's true. It does. He also tried to play "bad" when I mentioned "Wow so cool guitar." I also made a joke about "Making it Out of the Farmhouse" since there is no "hood" here. I said that would be a good song, and he tried to impromptu the lyrics (he couldn't lol). I also mentioned how he should make a song about not so big inconviences and he also tried to make some lyrics up. Something about stubbing his toe and eating a mushy orange. Wooper also made a reference to something he had to show me later but it was, "I'm a guitar. Guitar Guitar." He also sung some Midweatern emo song lol, it was good. He also asked for requests after he was done singing, and I said Hey There Delilah and Creep since he said he could do mean covers of those. He does.
Wooper also gave me the guitar and told me to play something, I said I can't and he told me to play a note. And that I definitely said I knew how to when I said couldn't. I ended up playing G. This guitar was the one in the fire, he told me about the fire story. The fret board looked like an upside down V, when they found it after the fire. Everything else was fine, just the fret board. He was able to fix it for pretty cheap, and so that guitar is extra cool. With Wooper on top of course.
But anyway, it just made me think he was cooler than before. It was an awesome thing to experience and I'm glad I'm friends with him for this little bit of time before he graduates. I kind of want to play guitar now, or at least make music or something. It's awesome. Maybe I can be as cool as him too someday.
